About Jo
I have been studying Sanskrit since the age of 17 including 2 years study with Alan Treloar, reader in Comparative Philology at the University of New England 1975 and 1979, and two years with Professor Godfey Tanner, Classics Department, Newcastle University, passing with Distinction. In 1981 I was awarded the inaugural Andrew Dahl Memorial Prize for Sanskrit by Newcastle University. I have kept up my interest in Sanskrit and since taking early retirement in2014, have renewed my private study.
