About Sam
(concealed information)
Sam Cross I'm a saxophonist, singer, conductor, and Head of Music at Wapping High School in Tower Hamlets. Originally from Cambridge, I studied music at Canterbury Christ Church University, where I was a conducting and choral scholar. My saxophone training was under Liz Mitchell and Sam Corkin, and I’ve performed in classical, jazz, and choral settings. As a performer, I’ve worked with the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, conducted the All Saints Chorus, and led choral services at venues across the UK. Why I Teach As a teacher and Head of Music, I believe in making music accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful for everyone. I teach saxophone, singing, and music theory because I love helping people find their sound, build confidence, and grow in skill—whether they’re beginners or more advanced musicians. My own journey was shaped by generous, inspiring teachers, and I aim to bring that same energy to every lesson. I offer structured, supportive sessions tailored to each student’s goals—whether that’s preparing for grades, improving technique, or simply playing for the love of it.
