About Bishal

Hi, I'm Bishal, and I am a graduate in Jazz Saxophone and have been teaching both offline and online since the past 8-10 years over various online sites and in various music colleges across Asia and Europe.

As a trained jazz saxophonist, I have a solid foundation in technique and music theory that I integrate into every lesson. My approach to teaching is patient, encouraging, and crafted to the individual needs and goals of each student. I believe that everyone has the potential to play the saxophone and my lessons are designed to bring out the best in every student. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, I'll help you develop your skills in tone, technique, and musicality, and give you the tools you need to succeed in any genre of music. About the lesson

Customized approach to classes allows me to take you through a step by step process through all the levels of learning the saxophone, regardless of age and musical skills.

Depending on your skill level with the saxophone, here's a rough curriculum for the classes:

Beginner 1 (4 sessions) (Practice required/week: 60 mins)

Learn proper Embouchure and Posture
Learn the basic notes
Learn your first major scale and how they are built (G major)
Have a proper and specific practice schedule

Beginner 2 (8 sessions) (Practice required/week: 80 mins)

Dive deep into sound exercises and sound of the saxophone
Learn three more major scales (C, D and F)
Learn your first song (Your choice)
Introduction to major scale technique exercises
Learn your second song (A foundation song)
Introduction to circle of 5ths

Beginner 3 (8 sessions) (Practice required/week: 100 mins)

More embouchure and sound exercise
Introduction to inner mouth shape and overtone series exercise
Start of melodic studies (Learn to play melodies by ear)
More major scales (Bb, Eb and A)
Learn your first song by yourself (Your choice)
(Optional) Learn to read notation of music

Intermediate 1 (12 sessions) (Practice required/week: 180 mins)

Overtone sound exercises + Embouchure exercises
Deep dive into more complex melodic studies (Connecting your inner voice with the instrument)
Major scale technique exercises on different finger configurations
Introduction to theory behind triads
Triadic studies on your song
Introduction to improvisation on the saxophone
Learn to add more articulations and textures to your song of choice
Introduction to vibrato
Introduction to minor scales

Intermediate 2 (16 sessions) (Practice required/week: 180 mins)

Overtone sound exercises + Embouchure exercises
Introduction to slides
Major scales in all 12 keys
Introduction to sight reading (Optional)
Learn your first jazz tune + improvisation concepts
Learn triad pairs and triads of changes
12 keys triads + 7th chords
Advanced melodic studies
Harmonic minor and melodic minor scales

Advanced (16 sessions) (Practice required/week: 200 - 240 mins)

Maintaining a practice routine for sound
Learn jazz standard etudes to play over changes
Introduction to major scale modes
Learning to improvise over changes and songs
How to keep learning on your own
More sight reading exercises and practical applications
Learning how to arrange and write your own saxophone pieces
