I'm Hana, a native Japanese tutor based in Kew, Melbourne.
I'm from Kyoto.
I visited Melbourne 3 years ago and was so fascinated, and now I'm living here!

As a former school teacher in Japan, with 6 years of experience in teaching, I have confidence in bringing a structured yet relaxed approach to every lesson!

Whether you're a complete beginner, looking to prepare for travel to Japan, or improve your everyday conversation, I'll design lessons around your goals and learning style!

Perfect for travelers who want to feel confident using Japanese in real-life situations!

・ Learn practical phrases and expressions commonly used in Japan
・Study with original materials I create (PowerPoints, handouts, and activities)
・Focus on speaking and understanding rather than complicated grammar
・Approximately 10-15 lessons you can read Hiragana & Katakana and be ready for the travel!

＜＜️︎General Japanese＞＞
Build a strong foundation in Japanese with a structured, step-by-step approach. For those who want to learn, focus on conversation and also build grammar knowledge.

・Learn grammar and essential vocabulary using Minna no Nihongo, PowerPoint and supplementary handouts
・Lessons are tailored to your current level and goals. Complete beginners are very welcome! We can discuss the best starting point for you, whether you're learning Japanese for the first time or looking to review and strengthen your existing knowledge.

Lastly, learning a new different language/ culture is not only fun, it surely enriches your life!
My goal is to help you enjoy learning Japanese while building the confidence to use it in real-life situations.
