About Elif
I am a fourth grade student at Boğaziçi University, Teaching Science. I worked as an intern teacher at Bahçeköy Açı Schools between November and January. During my internship, I guided students in group work. At the same time, I am taking part in the departmental peer mentoring project initiated for the first year students of the Boğaziçi University Science Teaching Program.

In line with the education I received at the Faculty of Education, I stay away from rote learning and teach my lessons by taking the student to the center. At the beginning of the lesson, it starts with questions that will measure the student's prior knowledge, if I find any deficiencies, I will repeat the previous topic before moving on to the new topic. In order to make the subjects meaningful, I explain especially abstract subjects by giving examples from daily life. Not only I speak in the lesson, I also teach my lessons by including the student in the lesson with various questions.
