About Cheshta
Hello my wonderful buddies, my name is Cheshta and I'm going to be your math tutor! Doesn't math feel challenging and annoying sometimes? Honestly, you'd rather go to a trampoline park, or play fun games or do anything rather than your math homework. Well, the best part about math is when it all starts to make sense and you go like, "OMG, it was that easy?" Well, I'm here to help you feel that way, and not with a boring lesson, but with a fun approach. I'll connect things you love, your hobbies and passions, and combine those traits with my tutoring, so all the challenging concepts finally start making sense! Remember that math is a concept that comes handy during life, whether it be counting money, or dealing with bank statements when you're all grown up, or splitting food up in an equal portion so everyone gets a fair amount. So, my goal is to make math super fun along with understanding certain concepts that seem tricky, which will feel like the best accomplishment ever!

My name is Cheshta, and my approach as a tutor is centered on making math relatable, and engaging. I love incorporating my students’ passions and hobbies into lessons, especially when working through more complicated calculations. For example, I might combine sports such as basketball or soccer with integers to help students visualize and understand abstract concepts more easily.
My teaching methodology focuses on unique problem solving approaches, because math is ultimately about recognizing patterns and applying them to real life situations. I believe that building a strong foundation in math creates gateways to understanding more advanced topics, making future calculations feel far less overwhelming.
Breaking the ice is important so students feel comfortable asking questions. From there, I explain concepts step by step, use relatable examples, and guide students through practice problems while encouraging them to think independently. I adapt my teaching style based on each student’s pace and learning preferences.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to connect with students as both a teacher and a peer. As a university student, I understand how students think and communicate, allowing me to explain concepts using languages they feel comfortable with (English, Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu). This helps strengthen trust and confidence during lessons.
My lessons are designed for students in grades 5–9, particularly those looking to build confidence in math, strengthen foundational skills, and develop effective problem-solving strategies in topics such as algebra, geometry, and calculations that seem challenging.
