About Iris
I am a third-year Sciences Po Paris student currently studying at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra. My university studies are heavily focused on essay writing, critical analysis and research across the humanities and social sciences, and I am fully fluent in English with a TOEFL iBT score of 113/120.
Writing is also one of my main personal interests. Alongside academic writing, I enjoy creative writing and poetry, which allows me to help students with both the technical and creative sides of their work.
I also have experience providing one-on-one tutoring and homework support to children and teenagers. Having worked for several years in youth and educational settings, I am patient, encouraging and comfortable adapting my explanations to different ages and learning styles.
My aim is not to write assignments for students, but to help them understand what makes a strong piece of writing, develop their own ideas and voice, and become more confident and independent writers.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether you need help structuring an academic essay, analysing a literary text, developing your creative writing, or improving a piece of poetry.
For essay writing and text commentary, I focus on helping students build a clear argument, develop a strong structure, analyse evidence effectively and express their ideas with greater clarity and confidence. Rather than simply correcting a piece of work, I aim to help students understand how to improve their own writing and develop skills they can use independently.
For creative writing and poetry, lessons can focus on storytelling, character development, dialogue, style, imagery, narrative voice and editing. I particularly enjoy helping students develop an initial idea into a more polished and engaging piece of writing.
A typical lesson lasts around one hour and can involve working on an existing assignment or piece of writing, preparing for an upcoming assessment, or completing targeted writing and analysis exercises.
My lessons are suitable for secondary school and university students, as well as anyone who simply wants to develop their creative writing skills.
