About Jacob
Like I said, I am a seasoned professional educator with over 15 years of experience, both formally and informally. I am officially qualified to teach Mathematics and Information Technology at high school level. I am certain as my potential student you would like to hear a brief about my personal life. Well, I am a husband and father of and we live in Johannesburg. So after completing high school, I began teaching Design and Technology at St. Stithians College for six years, without a degree. I also informally taught Mathematics through Penguin Tutoring and Math Ace. The former was an onsite class teaching with a cohort of students whereas the latter was telephonically with only one student at a time. Next I started teaching Mathematics at Rand Park High. I was then moved to teach IT excellently which promoted me to Head of Department and being deployed by the government as a PAT Moderator. This excellence is what motivated Crawford International to recruit me as a curriculum developer for Digital Literacy for Grade 8 and 9. On that note, I look forward to tutoring you online to help you improve your required understanding and expression of Mathematics and/or IT.

Initially a client completes an online diagnostic form for free to set goals and conduct a root cause analysis. The analysis informs me about suitable strategic interventions and a clear plan that will focus on key areas that need to be addressed. Thereafter, a commitment to a weekly plan is agreed upon and I then prepare a tutoring plan that is shared with the parents/guardians of the student(s). The mode of delivery can be hybrid (using Zoom and/or face-to-face) but most of the time we start at the client's house and thereafter arrange online or onsite accordingly. I like the tutorials to be mostly practical while in parallel I engage the client into constructing their own conceptual understanding.
