About Clare

With 20 years of hands-on tutoring experience and over 300 students taught, I take great pride in being a dedicated saxophone teacher for high school and college learners. My passion for education and music drives me to help students unlock their true musical potential in a simple and enjoyable way. My journey as a tutor began with the dream of making music education easy and accessible. Over time, I have guided many students from their very first note to confident stage performances. A major milestone in my career has been helping students succeed in auditions, school programmes, and live band performances. Seeing students grow from beginners into skilled performers continues to inspire me every day. I believe that strong basics create great musicians. My lessons focus on correct posture, breath control, finger technique, rhythm practice, and emotional expression through music. I use simple explanations, repeated practice, and encouraging feedback to help students improve steadily. I respect every learner’s pace and learning style. Teaching music is not only about sound—it is about discipline, confidence, creativity, and lifelong love for learning.

About the lesson

My saxophone teaching is based on clear goals, good communication, personal responsibility, and honesty in learning. I start by understanding each student’s level, interest, and learning speed. Through simple communication, I explain concepts in an easy and friendly way so students never feel confused. Accountability plays a big role in my classes. I help students set short-term and long-term goals and stay committed to regular practice. I give structured lesson plans, practice routines, and performance tasks to keep learning organised and effective. Integrity means learning with effort and truth. I guide students to focus on strong basics such as breathing techniques, tone quality, posture, finger control, scales, and rhythm. As students grow, I introduce improvisation, sight-reading, and performance confidence. I also teach supporting subjects like music theory, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic harmony. My aim is to help students become disciplined, confident, and skilled saxophone players who truly enjoy music.
