About Kirsty
I will be truthful, I have never formally taught before but I have prior experience of helping beginners and intermediates in ensemble settings. For example, I aided youngsters in a local youth orchestra before I left home for university. I feel, whilst I cannot necessarily offer a student much experience, I can offer a fresh perspective on techniques for playing the flute.

My name is Kirsty McGonigle and you read from the title, I am a second year music student at ththe University of Aberdeen. For the past year I have been working with a flute specialist to improve my technique on the flute and will continue to do so throughout the duration of my studies. I have been playing the flute for almost ten years and feel that I am very comfortable with the instrument at this stage and am knowledgeable enough to pass on advice about playing said instrument. I can also offer tutoring in the reading of sheet music and the playing of traditional Irish flutes as I also regularly perform with these although be warned, I am self taught. As a tutor on this platform, I hope to make the learning experience both enjoyable and insightful to those who wish to learn this reedless instrument.I will
