About Sophia
I am excited about the idea of sharing my passion for literature with younger students. I thoroughly enjoyed the GCSE course I did and the books I studied, so even if English isn't your thing, I hope to still help you find some enjoyment in the texts and feel confident for your exams.
I am a kind and relaxed person, but will hope that you work hard, as this will be rewarded in your work.
Outside of my studies, I enjoy dance, singing and going out with friends, so I understand and encourage having a good work-life balance.

In my lessons, I will aim to help students improve their confidence for their English Literature GCSE examinations by working through a range of revision techniques. These sessions will be aimed at the AQA exam board.
The technique I have found the most success with is creating essay plans, which will be a key part of my lessons. I will also work on memorising quotations, essay writing techniques and general explanations of plot of the texts / characters.
I am willing to revise and learn myself, however, the texts I have the most experience with are: Power and Conflict Poetry, An Inspector Calls, Macbeth, Jekyll and Hyde, DNA and Blood Brothers.
Typical lessons will run for an hour, however, I am adaptable if a student prefers a different lesson length. Suitable for Year 10/11 students.
