About Becky
I love teaching and learning languages and I enjoy putting my language skills into practice not only during my working day but through my travel experiences. I have travelled to some incredible places including Colombia, Panama, Nicaragua, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands as well as Thailand and Vietnam. I have travelled and lived abroad in Europe and I've also visited the USA. Travelling and being able to communicate in the local language is something I'm passionate about and I'll always have a go at speaking some simple phrases. I live with my husband, my dog Sherlock and my two cats Mycroft and Watson in a sometime crazy household. I love making memories and sharing unique experiences with my nearest and dearest and finding ways to relax and enjoy my time off.

I run lessons of 45 mins to 1 hour (depending on student preference or need). I apply the EPI method of teaching which is proven to support learners in memorising key vocabulary and grammar whilst promoting confidence and fluency. I have been teaching for 10 years and tutoring for over 15 years. I am also an examiner for Pearson Edexcel meaning I have an important insight into what the exam board is looking for when marking exam papers. This has heavily influenced and improved my teaching practice resulting in improved grades, especially with speaking exams. I currently teach KS2-Year 13 MFL and I have tutored students from KS2 to adult over the years. I am used to nervous learners and students who have severe anxiety about speaking another language and my proudest achievement was taking on a student in Year 8 who was terrified to speak French in school and who eventually went to take it at A Level as one of his favourite subjects.
