About Jason
I taught martial arts on a full-time basis for 25 years most of which was at high level teaching instructor as well as the public. In late 2022 I move back to Australia after spending 20+ years in the UK and am now content to pursue self-defence on a part time basis.
I started out in Karate but despite the many benefits of traditional training it was sorely lacking in the practical application of self-defence. Since then I have trained in MMA and Krav Maga which was originally developed by the Israeli defence force.

I focus on practical , context driven training to prepare people both physically and mentally for the realities of self-defence. Sadly most martial arts say they teach self-defence but actually they are almost exclusively focused on highly stylised sports competitions or abstract traditional training.
My training includes awareness and avoidance skills, de-escalation strategies, decisiveness and self defence law. As well as physical skills including dirty fighting, ground fighting, weapons defences and much more.
I can teach all ages from 5 years up, I have blue card. Classes are safety conscious but participants will be grabbed and pushed etc.
I will provide training equipment including mats, kick shields etc.
