About Susan
I am a semi-retired educator with experience in private and public education, as well as homeschooling. I have had to step back from full-time employment to care for an aging parent but want to continue serving students in my community, which I strongly feel was my calling. I love working with students and seeing that lightbulb moment when it all starts to come together. I love to celebrate all the small victories with my students so that they know they can succeed.

Tutoring is unique to the student's needs. If you need homework help, reteaching, or just need to "catch up" and fill in the gaps. My typical lesson plans for tutoring start with getting to know what the student is struggling with and getting to the heart of the problem. With math I like to an I do, we do, you do approach so that the student is able to watch and work together before attempting on their own. This helps to build their confidence level and gives them lots of opportunities to succeed. I feel comfortable teaching all math levels up to Algebra 1 (Math 1) and all other subject levels through 8th grade.
