About John
I always wanted to be a teacher growing up, but my passion for teaching learners with SEN began at University, whilst I was on a placement in a Specialist Provision. Unlocking the potential of children who may be lacking in confidence, helping them to believe in themselves and to watch them grow as people is one of the most rewarding feelings imaginable.
Aside from teaching, my other passions include travelling and football. I love exploring new places each year and I'm currently learning Spanish in preparation for a trip to South America. I'm also player-manager for a men's football team.
Whilst my teaching style is confident and energetic, I'm also a very calm and friendly person who is very easy to get along with.

Using a child-centred approach, I ensure my lessons are tailored to the needs of the individual whilst being fun and interactive.
I have 10 years of teaching experience across SEN, Mainstream Primary and Mainstream Secondary Schools, as well as Online. I have taught every age group from age 4 to adults. I have experience of and am confident in teaching most subjects. In addition, I have 3 years' experience working in Social Care with Disabled Children from 3-18.
I am happy to teach anyone, of any age, with additional needs. Lessons will range from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the needs of the individual.
