About Olivia

I fell in love with garment making in early 2020 and began making clothes by following patterns I found online. After a few years of learning on my own I decided to pursue a Bachelor of Fashion Design at UTS so that I could learn to draft my own patterns. My studies helped me hone my skills in sewing and construction and taught me professional and industry methods of fashion design. I now self-draft most of my projects and have experience creating custom garments for others. I am passionate about slow fashion and believe learning to make your own clothes opens up a wealth of opportunities both professionally and creatively. I want to help others develop their skills so they too can experience the joy and freedom in learning to make and design clothes!

About the lesson

My lessons are developed to support your individual needs. Please let me know what it is you would like support with.

I can help you with:
- master the sewing machine and sewing fundamentals.
- reading patterns (understanding measurement charts, fabric requirements and cutting instructions)
- customising pattern blocks
- adjust the design of a pattern / self-draft patterns based on your own designs
- sewing and construction skills (sewing darts, zips, gathers, buttonholes, shirring, inserting elastic, lining etc.)

My lessons take place in person either at your place or my home studio.
