About Manya

Hi! My name is Manya, and I am a Behavioral Neuroscience student at Simon Fraser University with a passion for helping students grow academically and build confidence in their abilities. I have experience working with children and youth through volunteer leadership, childcare, and community involvement, which has strengthened my communication, patience, and mentoring skills.

I understand that every student learns differently, so I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. Whether a student needs help improving their English skills or arithmetic in Math, building confidence in writing, or staying organized with schoolwork, I strive to make lessons engaging, personalized, and productive.

I am dependable, approachable, and committed to helping students feel more confident and successful in their learning journey.

About the lesson

My approach as a science tutor is supportive, engaging, and focused on helping students truly understand concepts rather than memorize information. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, thinking critically, and building confidence in their academic abilities.

My teaching methodology focuses on simplifying complex scientific concepts into clear, manageable explanations. I use examples, visual explanations, practice questions, and interactive discussions to help students strengthen their understanding and apply what they learn effectively. I also adapt lessons based on each student’s learning style and academic goals.

A typical lesson may include reviewing previous material, explaining new concepts step-by-step, practicing questions together, and reinforcing learning through discussion and problem-solving. I can assist with homework support, test preparation, foundational science concepts, and improving study habits.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my patience, communication skills, and strong academic background in science as a Behavioral Neuroscience student at Simon Fraser University. I understand that every student learns differently, and I strive to make science feel more approachable, interesting, and manageable.
