About Laurel
Singing has been my life since I first stepped onto a stage to perform, though teaching became my true calling after 13 years of practice. I earned a Master of Music in Music Performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music to refine my understanding of the human voice. Honestly, I find the most satisfaction in helping students master sight singing, pitch control, and tone resonance.
My approach prioritizes head and chest voice mechanics alongside vibrato control to keep voices healthy. Working in studios and on stages for over a decade taught me that real growth comes from consistent, practical habits. I thrive when helping vocalists prepare for exams while maintaining their instrument for the long term. It is a pleasure to guide others as they find their authentic sound.

Singers achieve a clear, resonant tone that rings through the room during our first collaborative vocal study. You will hear the immediate shift in your resonance as we align your breath and muscular engagement for optimal projection.
I implement a diagnostic vocal assessment for every new student to map out your specific vocal landscape accurately. My Master of Music degree from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music informs every technical adjustment we make during our time together.
We focus on the physical sensation of sound rather than abstract concepts to ensure your progress remains audible. The technical skills we cover, from vowel purity to dynamic control, create a foundation that supports your growth.
I prioritize a clear path forward where your vocal mechanics are demystified through direct observation. You can expect our time to remain focused on tactile, practical exercises that bridge the gap between theory and performance. It is my priority to keep our sessions grounded in musical reality while we navigate your unique vocal goals together.
