About Ava
I am a guitar tutor with over 4 years of experience teaching blues and modern styles. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Guitar Performance. My lessons are tailored to each student. I teach Beginner to Advanced players.
I specialize in slide guitar, open tunings, and fingerpicking blues. These skills help create a unique sound. I teach in a clear and simple way. Students build confidence step by step.
I cover blues styles such as Delta, Chicago, and Piedmont. Each style brings a different feel. I help students understand and apply these styles. This builds both skill and creativity.
My teaching style is supportive and motivating. I give regular feedback and guidance. Students stay engaged and confident. Let’s explore your musical voice through the blues.

My approach to teaching guitar reading is clear and structured. I focus on building strong foundations. Students learn both tablature and standard notation. I help them connect the two.
We start with basic note reading and rhythm exercises. Sight-reading is introduced step by step. Rhythm notation is practised regularly. This builds timing and accuracy.
As students improve, they read more complex music. I guide them in understanding patterns and phrasing. Sight-reading becomes more comfortable. Confidence grows steadily.
