About Olivia
Hello! I’m Olivia, a recent Somerville House graduate with a passion for swimming and teaching. My journey in the pool started young, and through school, I developed both my swimming skills and my love for helping others. I understand how important it is for children to feel safe and supported when learning something new, especially in the water.
My teaching style is patient, positive, and personalized. I strive to make each lesson a fun, rewarding experience where kids can build confidence and learn at their own pace. Safety is always my top priority, and I ensure that every swimmer understands the basics of water safety before diving into new skills.
I am here to provide a supportive environment where your child can grow their swimming abilities, build confidence, and have fun along the way. I look forward to helping your child discover the joy of swimming!

My approach to teaching swimming is focused on creating a safe, supportive, and enjoyable learning environment. With my experience in swimming from my time at Somerville House, I understand how important it is to build a child's confidence in the water from the start.
Techniques and Teaching Methodology: I believe in teaching through positive reinforcement and hands-on guidance. I start with water safety basics and gradually introduce swimming techniques, tailored to each child’s comfort level. My goal is to make each lesson engaging, so kids feel excited to learn and improve.
Lesson Length: Each lesson is typically 30 minutes, which I find ideal for young children to stay focused and energized. I can adjust the length as needed based on each child’s needs and progress.
Qualifications and Experience: Graduating from Somerville House in 2022, I have a strong background in swimming and an understanding of child-centered learning. My experience and passion for swimming, paired with my ability to connect with kids, make me an effective and relatable teacher.
Who Are My Lessons For? My lessons are designed for young beginners, typically ages 4-8, who are new to swimming or want to improve basic skills. I’m excited to help little swimmers gain confidence and enjoy their time in the water!
