About Jasper

I'm a friendly Melbourne-based guitarist, bassist and songwriter who loves helping people enjoy making music. I teach electric, acoustic and bass guitar with a relaxed, practical approach focused on real songs, rhythm & lead and creative confidence. I’m an active performing musician and songwriter, working on both solo projects as 'jib' and as a band member in SAND, King Kalatha, as well as a bassist for Krill.

About the lesson

My teaching is student-centred and music-first. I focus on building strong fundamentals (rhythm & technique) while connecting them directly to songs and styles the student loves. Lessons balance skill development with creative elements like improvisation, songwriting and ear training. For electric and bass, I place strong emphasis on feel and playing in time with others. I adapt each lesson to the student’s goals, whether that’s jamming, writing music, or performing live.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes. Longer sessions are available for advanced students or those interested in songwriting, recording or band preparation.

I’m an active performing musician and songwriter, working on both solo projects as 'jib' and as a band member in SAND, King Kalatha, as well as a bassist for Krill. I regularly perform live, record music, and have experience across electric guitar, acoustic guitar and bass in genres including surf rock, folk, bossa nova and indie rock. My background in gigging across Melbourne and songwriting allows me to teach both technical skills and real-world musicianship.

My lessons are suited for beginners through to intermediate players, from teens to adults. I’m especially good for students who want to play in bands, write their own music, or build confidence playing with others. No prior theory knowledge is required.
