About Tom
I ama 25 year old queer artist from rural Ireland. I have lived in London for four years as a student, composer and events curator, while working as a carer alongside my studies and creative practice. I am interested in environmentalism and spirituality, which are themes reoccuring in my music. I have lived in Holland and the UK along with my time in Ireland, and have travelled as a hostel worker. I would describe myself as a quiet and calm person who is sensitive to the needs of others.

My lessons are for all ages. I take playful approaches to music software to encourage creative practice rather than technical sound design, so my teaching is suitable for musicians, composers and beat makers. Each lesson explores a new tool, such as digital sampling, vocal processing, and reverberation with the aim to create a piece of music with this tool. As a teacher I am interested in supporting the unique artistic expression of the learner and allow the learner to build their own relationship to music software. I will include experimental practice in my lessons such as sound walking, writing and improvisation to encourage students to expand their creative potential.
I have experience as a Student Ambassador and Course Representative during my time in London College of Communication, where I fascillitated out-of-school workshops , tours and lectures. I also have taught people on Ableton based on particular interests such as field recording and beat making. As an artist I have been composing music for 12 years perform internationally.
