About Rachel

Hi, my name is Rachel! I have been teaching Spanish for the past 3 years. I have taught students both in person and online. For me, it is extremely rewarding seeing the progress my students go through every lesson.

I know learning a new language can be daunting at first. I came to the U.S from Cuba a couple of years ago and had to learn English, so as a language learner myself, trust me I understand the struggles.

But learning is an ongoing progress, so currently I am unlocking a new milestone and learning French. Despite the struggles, learning can be so fun! and so so so rewarding.

So I invite you to give it a go and begin your Spanish learning journey. Whether it's for personal enjoyment, building relationships, or even advancing your career, we'll not only explore the language but also delve into the captivating Hispanic culture. Oh, and let's not forget about the music! It's my absolute favorite part, we will definitely delve into the beautiful rhythms that make learning Spanish even more delightful.

¡Bienvenidos a nuestra aventura de español! When learning Spanish we all have unique journeys, just as we have different starting levels and goals. Whether it's for personal interest, travel, or work, I've got you covered!

Once we've established your starting level and goals, is when the fun truly begins. Every lesson is specially tailored to your age and preferred learning style, so feel free to let me know how you think you learn best. However, there's one thing that's non-negotiable: speaking. We will always be practicing what we learn. Whether it's just "Hola," we'll practice "Hola" in every class! Because essentially that is how we learn, by practicing and utilizing what we learn. So we will always be having conversations together, in Spanish, which will increase as we learn more and more every class.

I'll provide you with flashcards and documents to practice what we learn even outside the classroom. In addition, I'll provide you with extra resources like songs, podcasts, movies, books, dishes, and cultural tidbits tailored to your interests so you can dive even deeper into the language and truly immerse yourself. Get ready to be amazed by the diversity of Spanish-speaking countries and the idiomatic expressions that will make you smile and laugh at how silly some of them can be in English!

Remember, this journey is yours, and together we'll explore all that Spanish has to offer. Whether you're an enthusiastic beginner or already have a solid foundation, I assure you that every step you take in this class will be an opportunity to grow and enjoy. I am patient and I understand some topics can be difficult so I aim to create a positive environment where asking questions is encouraged.

Classes can take place any day of the week and any time virtually or in my house, so feel free to reach out to me about which day is best for you. I mostly focus on teaching students in elementary, middle school, and high school.

Perfect! Rachel was always punctual and worked excellently with my kids. They were always excited to get into class with her and their homework away from class were progressively challenging, exactly what we needed.

I have had lessons with Tara's daughter since the summer and I've got to say it has been an amazing experience. She is a fast-learner and seeing her growth has been very rewarding. We still currently have lessons every week!!
