About Dr Danilo
I am a native Spanish speaker and experienced university professor with more than 20 years of teaching experience in the United States. I hold a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature and Culture and an M.A. in Language Teaching–Spanish from a Research 1 university. Throughout my academic career, I have taught Spanish at several U.S. colleges and universities, working with students from beginning through advanced levels.
My teaching experience includes Spanish language, grammar, conversation and composition, literature, culture, film, and Spanish for professional purposes. I have extensive experience teaching both in person and online.
In addition to my graduate degrees, I hold a Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University and a Certificate in English-Spanish Translation from the University of Toronto.

My teaching approach is communicative, interactive, and tailored to each student’s individual goals and learning needs. I believe students learn Spanish most effectively when they actively use the language in meaningful situations rather than simply memorize vocabulary and grammar rules.
A typical lesson combines conversation, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and cultural content, with activities selected according to the student’s level and objectives. I connect new material to what students already know and provide opportunities to practice Spanish through authentic and engaging communication.
What sets me apart is my extensive academic and teaching background. I hold a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature and Culture and an M.A. in Language Teaching–Spanish, and I have taught Spanish at U.S. colleges and universities for more than 20 years.
