About JoAnn
I am a special instructor and a tutor for all grades and subject areas. I also am a speech therapist and an ABA instructor for the 0 -3 year old population. I work with students and tailor lessons to the individual's level of understanding and learning style.

My teaching method is to present the topic needed to be taught. Then I use materials that facilitate learning. I go about it by asking students what they already know insofar as the topic needed to be covered, take notes, clarify any misunderstandings, and build on previous prior knowledge. Once that's established, I proceed with activities and strategies with the help if materials, e.g., flow charts, graphic organizers, manipulatives, drawings, etc. I explain the activities and the objectives, have them take notes, and ask them what they learned during the activities.
