About Alon
I am a graduate student at the National University of Colombia, currently working on a research masters in Amazonian Studies. My research focuses on transcultural formation of territory based in indigenous philosophy.
I received my undergraduate specialty degree from University of Toronto, St. George campus in social, cultural, and linguistic anthropology. In Toronto worked with professors on multiple ethnographic research projects, ranging from the role of visual culture in urban development to human-animal interactions in the city of Toronto.
I have particular knowledge concerning anthropology in Bolivia and Colombia both of which I have gotten to know for extended periods of time as a researcher, student, teacher and volunteer.

I really enjoy finding out a students interests and relating theoretical concepts back to their personal experiences. I find that many people learn best in talking about concepts until one has truly internalized the knowledge. I do not think one can truly learn without the process seriously impacted their world view.
