About Vijaykumar
I am a vising Ph.D. student at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and a full-time Ph.D. student in the Department of Hydrology, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR). My career aspiration is to become a successful and productive researcher/academician who can help the country tackle ecosystem functioning-related issues. My research interests include assessing Remote Sensing and GIS, terrestrial ecosystem dynamics, ecohydrological modeling, and climate change impact studies. A desire to expand my knowledge to solve the challenging problems in ecosystem services management motivated me to pursue a Ph.D. My educational background has taught me the qualities required to solve these demanding problems and enabled me to secure one of India's most prestigious fellowships, the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF).
