About Lydia
I have recently graduated with an HNC in Applied Biological Sciences within the SQA framework (Level 7/8) acquiring a deep and comprehensive knowledge in various topics, including DNA & Genetics, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Human anatomy, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Maths. My experience also allows me to teach beyond theory as I am skilled in laboratory techniques and essential research methods. My Nat 5 and Higher qualifications mean I am extremely familiar with the SQA curriculum, exam formats and what is necessary to secure top marks.
I have always helped my peers with their studying; combined with my passion for Biology; my ability to engage and support individuals with their learning is strong.
My initial lesson (free) aims to help me understand your strengths and weaknesses in the understanding of the material and the most efficient way for you to learn, as I understand everyone has different ways that works for them. A standard lesson has a clear structure and focus. I would begin with a recap on previous material, then focus on a specific topic and finally exam style questions or discussions. Throughout the lesson there will always be opportunity to ask questions and address gaps in knowledge in a supportive and conducive way. I am also flexible with how we can best help you to learn, so there is always the opportunity for you to suggest how you want the lesson to go.
