About Joe
Hi, I'm Joe.
I've been playing piano my whole life and teaching it for years, and if there's one thing I keep coming back to it's this — the piano rewards curiosity more than almost any other instrument. The more you explore it, the more it gives back. And my job is to make sure you never stop being curious about it.
I didn't grow up wanting to be a teacher. I grew up wanting to play — everything, all the time, in as many styles as I could get my hands on. Classical pieces that felt like architecture. Jazz standards that felt like conversation. Pop songs that just made you feel something immediately. All of it fascinated me, and all of it shaped how I eventually started teaching.
Because when you've genuinely fallen in love with an instrument across multiple worlds, you stop seeing students as fitting into one box. A kid who wants to play video game music and an adult who wants to finally learn jazz aren't that different — they both just want to connect with something that matters to them.

My lessons are organized but never rigid.
There's always a clear direction — we're not just noodling around hoping something sticks. But within that direction, there's room to follow what excites you, to spend extra time on something that's clicking, to take a detour when a detour is worth taking.
Every student gets a lesson built around their specific goals, their specific pace, and the specific music that makes them light up. I pay close attention to what's working and what isn't, and I adjust constantly. No two students of mine have ever had exactly the same experience, and that's entirely intentional.
You'll develop real skills here — solid technique, musical understanding, the ability to hear what you're playing and know what to do with it. But you'll develop them through music you actually care about, which makes all the difference in the world.
