About Trevor
I am a graduate student at Texas State University studying statistics and I have a B.S. in math. In addition to my studies at Texas State, I am also pursuing a career in actuarial science and have passed a variety of examinations distributed by the Society of Actuaries. If you are unfamiliar with the Society of Actuaries, I would encourage you to take a quick glance on google to learn more about the exam process. I have extensive experience working with the statistical programming language R and R studio, as well.

Statistics is a very intimidating subject. Being motivated to study it comes with a comprehensive understanding of underlying principles supporting the framework designed to answer questions related to risk. I would encourage all students to remember that statistics is architected on the foundations of logic, which is something we all use and practice every single day, even if you have never thought of it in that way. In that sense, giving emphasis to the logic and not all the wacky symbols we come across in our studies related to risk assessment will embolden students to want to have a deeper understanding of what is actually being said, as it typically is not too overwhelming.
