David worked with undergraduates and graduate students as a tutor in the Center for Educational Resources and Counseling at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA from 2004-2006. During that period, he spent hundreds of hours helping students master the concepts of probability and statistics and link those concepts to real world experiences and situations. His clients uniformly gave him the highest possible evaluations on his performance, indicating that he was empathetic and concerned about their learning.
More mature than the average tutor, David, nevertheless, worked well with them, participating fully in training sessions, and supporting their efforts when he was not with clients. He handled stress well and was promoted to supervisor in 2006, overseeing the operation of the Center from 5-9 PM, assisting tutors with any difficulties that might arise, and helping direct the flow of clients to tutors.
