My typical lesson contains a mix of direct instruction and independent work. The first 5 minutes will typically be spent reviewing the homework the student was given. The next 15-20 will be direct instruction on specific questions the student has about the material. The remainder of the time will be independent work and reinforcement of the material through practice.
