About Greta

Welcome! My name is Greta, and I am passionate about helping students unlock their full potential in French. Having grown up attending an international school in Denver before transitioning directly into the rigorous French school system here in Paris, I intimately understand the unique journey of navigating different cultures and academic environments.

Whether you are aiming to master conversational fluency, build a rich and vibrant vocabulary, or conquer reading and listening comprehension, my lessons are meticulously designed to guide you every step of the way. My teaching approach blends structured academic rigor with a warm, inspiring environment. Instead of rote memorization, we focus on real-world communication across all four language pillars—listening, reading, speaking, and vocabulary—ensuring you develop genuine, lasting confidence.

Outside of academics, you can often find me running, playing tennis, dancing, or spending time with my two cats! Every session I lead is tailored to your unique goals and learning pace, utilizing clear, organized materials to make complex concepts feel effortless. Join me for an engaging, personalized learning journey where making mistakes is celebrated as progress, and speaking French becomes second nature.

About the lesson

- I am a high school student who lives part-time in the US and part-time in Paris. Let's just say, I know how to teach. I have a certificate from School House and have tutored in Paris.
- I seamlessly integrate listening, speaking, and reading into every student's curriculum. I encourage speaking and expressing yourself from day 1. And I will utilize visuals, listening clips, and curated reading to make learning more fun.
- I start my lessons with a quick verification (quiz or game), next I do a listening/reading comprehension, then some speaking, maybe a little grammar, orthographe or a fun story and for the last 5 minutes we make an action plan.
- I go to school in Paris so I am highly experienced in the French language. I'm patient and adapt my speed to anyone who needs to go slower or faster.
- I teach grades: 1st through 6th (I do teach 6th graders and sometimes 7th graders if necessary).
