About Elyse
Hi I'm Elyse! I’m a statistics student at the University of Calgary who genuinely enjoys helping kids feel more confident and capable in their schoolwork. I take the time to understand how each student learns, what they struggle with, and what motivates them. My style is patient, calm, and encouraging. I want my students to feel supported, not stressed. I break things down clearly, celebrate both small and big wins, and help them build the skills they need to stay organized and succeed on their own. I keep my tutoring style clear, calm, and structured, breaking concepts into simple steps and using examples and guided practice so students actually understand the material.
A typical session starts with a quick check-in, a short review, and then step-by-step work on new topics, followed by practice and a quick recap. I also tailor each session to the student’s needs and struggles, focusing on the exact areas where they get stuck and adjusting the pace so they never feel lost.
I tutor grades 7–12 in math to improve study habits, provide homework help, and exam prep, with the goal of building confidence.
