About Asami

I am a native Japanese from Hokkaido, Japan and a mum of 1 living near Melbourne, Victoria :)

- What are my experiences as a Japaenese teacher? -
I had been teaching Japanese for the last 10 years from complete beginners to business conversations and JLPT in both private and group settings at one of the biggest Japanese language schools in Melbourne.

Through the decade of my experience teaching Japanese, I have been always enjoying having lessons in a fun environment as well as sharing our passion and interests!
Also, I feel privileged to see each student's progress and improvement.

About the lesson

- How do I teach? -
Direct method : Let's learn Japanese in Japanese like native speakers do when they start learning their mother language from A to Z!
I will use lots of examples and visual aids, just so you will understand the grammar points in a natural way.
However, I will be more than happy to use more English as per your level and preference to assist and accelerate your understanding and improvement!

In lesson, we focus more on speaking and listening although you will have some homework ;) for writing and reading as you learn.

We usually go along with a textbook, but as this is private lessons, no problems with accommodating your requests such as " I want to practice travel conversations" and "I would like to have some small quiz and tests every now and then" and I would love to modify each lesson to archive your goal.

Feel free to go forwards (or even backwards!) at your own pace and have fun!

- How long is a lesson? -
It is 50 mins.

-Who my lessons are for? -
I have more experience in teaching adults and secondary school teenagers, however, my lessons can be for anyone and everyone!

At the first lesson, let's have a quick chat and let me assess your level as well as know your goal, interests and preferences and we can discuss about your tailored lessons.
