I think patience and communication skills are the highest skills needed. I know what its like to have a tutor that just rewrites what you learnt in class and doesn't really explain concepts and how frustrating that can be.
Length of a lesson could be from 30-60 as long as there has been material understood
I've had experience with people I've personally known trying to help them.
