About Kassa
I am a professional jazz saxophonist and composer, currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music. I have also previously studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Tomorrow's Warriors.
I have been playing saxophone since I was 8, and have been gigging professionally since I was 15. I have played at venues and events such as Barbican, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Dizzy's Club, 606 Club, Vortex Jazz Club, All Points East, Love Supreme Festival, We Out Here Festival, Brick Lane Jazz Festival, and Cheltenham Jazz Festival amongst others. I have also played alongside established UK jazz musicians such as Gary Crosby, Byron Wallen, and Rod Youngs, as well as artists such as Odeal and elite ensembles such as the Nu Civilisation Orchestra.
Throughout my education, I have the had the privilege to study with world-class saxophonists such as Will Vinson, Jean Toussaint and Bruce Williams (Juilliard School), whom I have learned the art of jazz education from, as well as helping me to hone my craft.
I've been running a quartet project since I was 16, where I play my original compositions live in venues across London.

My approach to teaching is centred around making lessons enjoyable, practical and tailored to each student. Whether you are picking up the saxophone for the first time, preparing for an exam or audition, or looking to develop your jazz improvisation and harmony, I will adapt lessons around your individual goals and interests.
Alongside developing technique and musicianship, I aim to help students understand the theory behind what they are playing and develop their own musical voice. Depending on your goals, lessons can cover saxophone technique, improvisation, ear training, jazz theory/harmony, reading, and repertoire.
Lessons are typically 30-60 minutes.
I have taught in secondary schools, as well as working with the Hackney Music Service, and have now begun teaching 1 to 1 lessons privately.
My lessons are for students of all ages and abilities.
