I’m Allison, a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Fordham University with 2+ years of college tutoring experience. I’m passionate about helping students feel confident in their coursework and develop study habits that make challenging material feel more manageable.

My tutoring style is patient, supportive, and personalized. I take the time to understand each student’s individual needs and learning style rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. My approach to tutoring is personalized, encouraging, and focused on helping students truly understand the material rather than simply memorize information. With 2+ years of college tutoring experience, I have worked with students across psychology, biology, statistics, and other college-level courses, adapting my teaching style to each student's learning style, goals, and areas of difficulty.

A typical lesson begins by identifying what the student is currently struggling with and reviewing any upcoming assignments, exams, or concepts they need to master. From there, I break complex material into manageable sections, explain concepts in clear and relatable terms, and use practice questions, examples, active recall, and discussion to reinforce understanding. I also like to end each session by reviewing the key takeaways and identifying what the student should focus on before our next lesson.
