About Ali
I have a wealth of tutoring experience and have been teaching for over nine years, during this time I have taught approximately three hundred students at all levels up to GCSE level. I have been highly successful as shown by my students results and achievements. I am very passionate about teaching and enjoy the challenging and rewarding nature of the job.
Over 80 of my students have gained entry into top grammar/private schools, with many achieving scholarship places. My students have gone on to attend some of the most prestigious schools in the country (see list below). In 2018 I taught 15 students Maths GCSE and all achieved a 7+ with four students achieving a grade 9.
I have an excellent success rate and pride myself on being a highly versatile teacher. I enjoy working with young people and I gain satisfaction from seeing others improve as a result of my help.
I have graduated from Queen Mary University of London with a Maths & Finance degree. I went to Whitgift School where I achieved 10 A.A grades in particular gaining a special award from exam board AQA for receiving one of the best marks in the entire country (Top 5 mark) out of over 200,000 candidates in my English literature paper. In my Economics A-Level I achieved an A* grade; in unit three and four, my grade was ninety seven and ninety eight out of a hundred which again resulted in me receiving a special award and my exam script being showcased as model answers.

I believe in delivering lessons which enable students to understand and present in their work in a clear logical manner. Emphasis is on exam skills and understanding what the examiner is looking for. My experience as a tutor spans over 10 years and I have an excellent track record in helping my students achieve entry to the best schools as well as achieving top grades in GCSE. Typical lesson length is one hour. Zoom lessons available.
