About Jacob
Standing on stages across the Australian Latin music scene for 13 years shaped how I approach every fretboard. I am a University of Melbourne graduate who spent 11 years refining a sound that blends rhythm guitar with complex soloing. Over time I have worked with hundreds of students to build their strumming patterns and barre chord confidence. My acoustic technique focuses on making sense of the fretboard through ear training and precise chord transitions. I see the instrument as a vehicle for storytelling whether through original songwriting or improvisation. My teaching is informed by a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a deep familiarity with the Latin music tradition. I help self-taught players find structure while guiding performance-focused students toward their goals. My methodology relies on 11 years of active gigging to break down technical hurdles. You will find my classroom to be a place where rhythm and melody intersect perfectly. I turn complex music theory into manageable practice habits.

Starting our first session involves finding the specific style that makes your fingers move naturally. We will look at your current technique and identify the small adjustments needed for cleaner notes. I use custom backing tracks so students can practise soloing at home. This allows you to experiment with your improvisation in a stress-free environment. My 11 years of performance experience ensures you get practical advice that works on stage. I focus heavily on the foundational skills like fingerpicking and rhythm. It is all about finding your voice through the strings.
