About Taranjot
I have several years of informal tutoring experience, supporting both primary and high school students in mathematics. I began by tutoring my younger sister throughout primary school, helping her build strong foundational skills and improve her confidence in numeracy. I have also provided math support to other students during high school, assisting them with homework, exam preparation, and understanding challenging topics.
Through this experience, I have developed patience, clear communication skills, and the ability to explain concepts in multiple ways to suit different learning styles. I understand that every student progresses at a different pace, and I am committed to creating a supportive, structured, and encouraging learning environment.
I take my role as a tutor seriously and always aim to be reliable, well-prepared, and professional. My goal is not only to help students improve their marks, but also to build their confidence and long-term understanding of mathematics.

My approach to tutoring focuses on building confidence, strong foundations, and a genuine understanding of maths rather than just memorising steps. I believe every child learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s pace and learning needs.
In my lessons, I break down concepts into simple, clear steps and use practical examples to make maths easier to understand. I encourage students to ask questions and think through problems independently, guiding them step-by-step when needed. I also include practice questions, interactive activities, and revision to reinforce learning and track progress.
A typical lesson runs for 1–2 hours, depending on the student’s needs. Sessions usually include reviewing previous content, introducing or clarifying new concepts, guided practice, and independent problem-solving with feedback.
My lessons are designed for primary school students (Years 1–6) who want to improve their maths skills, build confidence, catch up on challenging topics, or get ahead in class. I aim to create a supportive and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable and motivated to improve.
