About Xu

I’m a dedicated and experienced math tutor with a strong background in Mechanical Design Engineering. I have a Master of Science in Engineering Science from the University of New South Wales and have been successfully tutoring students in VCE General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, and Specialist Mathematics, as well as IB Math. My approach is tailored to each student's needs, ensuring that they not only understand the material but also develop the skills necessary to excel in their exams.

Tailored Learning Plans: I assess each student’s current knowledge, strengths, and areas for improvement, then create a learning plan that targets their specific needs.
Concept Clarity: I emphasize understanding core concepts, ensuring students grasp the fundamental principles behind what they're learning, particularly in mathematics and related subjects. I explain concepts using simple, relatable examples to make difficult topics easier to understand.
Active Learning: I encourage students to actively participate by asking questions and solving problems during lessons, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Practice-Oriented: I provide plenty of practice problems to reinforce concepts, ensuring students become comfortable applying what they've learned in various contexts. This is especially important in subjects like math, where application is key to mastery.
