About Lachlan
I want to inspire creativity and confidence with every student I teach. Learning the piano was one of the best decisions I ever made, it's opened me up to so much, not just musically but as a person as well. I understand how sometimes learning an instrument can come off as monotonous and boring, I have first hand experience with boring piano lessons, but it's my goal to inspire you to develop a deep appreciation for the piano and music as a whole. I want you to understand that even though it may be difficult to start off with, once you hone your musicality to a point where you can make informed decisions regarding song composition, melody, and rhythm, it will be something you cherish forever.

My teaching methodology is designed to inspire students to adopt a well-rounded, all encompassing appreciation for music. I encourage creativity in my lessons, as I want my students to enjoy their time spent on the piano. I start off explaining piano scales, and the importance they have when reading and/or writing music. I then explain the notes on the keyboard, and how the keyboard consists of octaves. We then slowly work through basic piano pieces, which incorporates a foundation knowledge of music theory and auditory concentration.
My Lessons are 40 minutes long.
I have completed the ABRSM piano exams up to Grade 4 and have achieved a high distinction in all.
I also teach lessons on a freelance basis to a few beginner students and have done so for the past 10 months.
I generally start off with Beginners, this may vary from primary school, to high school or to people who have never played piano before.
