About Sylvia
I have more than ten years of experience in teaching French as a foreign language to English-speaking, Spanish-speaking and multilingual learners from all backgrounds.
I am currently part of the French Institute in London team teaching British diplomats at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). In this context, I use my academic knowledge to create educational programs covering the various fields of application to diplomatic professions such as geopolitics, international cooperation and development for high profile learners.
I also have a wealth of experience with young audiences with whom I combine a communicative approach and creativity through multidisciplinary activities such as games, dance, visual arts or comics for example.

I adopt a communicative approach in order to give students concrete tools to be able to communicate with ease according to their needs and their objectives.
I put the emphasis on oral comprehension and communication and phonetics in particular because these are the most difficult skills to acquire for a foreign learner. Vocabulary and grammar are studied in context through numerous structural exercises.
I try to vary the supports to make the classes dynamic and creative and I favor a construction of the courses going from the simple to the complicated, which allows the learners to feel confident. I listen to each learner to adapt to the pace of each.
