About Csilla

In the past years I have been working as a freelance photographer for various magazines - such as Liberation (FR), Ordinary (NL), the Room (HU), Correspondent (NL), Volkskrant (NL), NRC (NL) etc - while I have also exhibited my work in different museums and galleries and art fairs - such as Museum het Valkhof (NL), Arnhem Museum (NL), Stedelijk Museum Schiedam (NL), Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center (NL), Paris Photo (FR), Unseen (NL), Nada Maimi (USA) etc.
Last year I have won the Still life prize at the he 33rd Festival International de Mode & de Photographie, Hyères in France. In 2018 I have worked together on the Signature Campaign with Komono.
Recently I have self-published my first book, called Pillars of home, which has been nominated for the Unseen Dummy Award4 and currently being distributed by Idea Books.
I also gave a workshop at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, which allowed me to engage with undergraduate as well as graduate students. Besides that I’ve guided photography students at the Road Island School of Design during their graduation project as well as worked as an external expert at the final examination (graduation) of the Willem de Kooning Academy. These experiences has strengthened my enthusiasm about advisory and mentoring and teaching.

I am experienced at giving lessons and workshops for children & adults.
We will adjust the lessons to your experiences and interests.
Besides learning basic photography technics, we will have a closer look into still life photography - including studio lighting - and hand-made photography sets.
I will introduce you to various artists and photographers and will let you find your own visual style by creating your own photo sets, light sets etc.
Are you planning to apply for an art school? I can help you with building your portfolio and giving feedback on your work.
