About Jil
My name is Jil and I am originally from Luxembourg, currently residing in Limerick. I speak five languages (Luxembourgish, German, French, English, Korean) and some Italian and Japanese. I also started studying Mandarin last year, since I love learning new languages and engaging with different cultures. Additionally, I have lived and studied in Germany and South Korea before coming to Ireland for my postgraduate studies. I have worked as a tutor teaching mostly English in Luxembourg and Korea, and as a dance educator in Luxembourg, working with children aged 4 years and up, teenagers, and young adults. My educational and professional background is mostly related to Psychology and Dance, but I have completed several courses related to the English language and literature as part of and outside of my university degrees. I have also taken the IELTS certification exam multiple times and received a C2 equivalent score.

I use the first lesson to agree upon a regular meeting schedule and appropriate lesson plan with my students. I adapt my teaching methodology to the needs of each student, focusing on areas and vocabulary that is most relevant to them. A lesson is usually an hour long, unless a shorter or longer duration benefits the student more. I have experience tutoring Luxembourgish students as well as Korean students. I have worked as an educator with children, adolescents, and young adults, but I am happy to offer lessons to adults and older adults as well. My lessons are best suited for beginners and intermediate learners.
