About Alistair
I'm currently on a gap year and heading to the University of Birmingham next year to study Economics and Politics. In my time before this I would like to help students in their studies of GCSE Mathematics as I am aware of the difficulties it can pose to students. I would like to help students get on the right track to taking their exams and achieving what they are really capable of. I would not only like to provide my service during the sessions but further help them utilise their time else whereby helping them with studying methods and resources. I further understand that tutoring can feel a chore to students and believe with a tutor who was so recently a student himself, I am capable of making this process work without the student feeling resentful of the work.

Currently being in a gap year I am 19 years old and as such have near memories of studying and the examination process! I am looking to help students gain levels of confidence in GCSE Mathematics. I would typically aim to teach lessons anywhere from an hour to 2 hours. Whilst I have no prior work in tutoring as of the time I have written this I believe I am more than capable in providing my service in helping students with my relatively greater familiarity to the current state of the examination process due to my age. I would aim to have students provide me with specific topics that they find challenging and help them to build on such topics by providing them with relevant exam questions. I am also happy to go through exam papers and practice. Most importantly to me, I aim to engage students by entering the lesson with prepared work to look through.
