About Jil
My name is Jil and I am originally from Luxembourg, currently residing in Limerick. I speak five languages (Luxembourgish, German, French, English, Korean) and some Italian and Japanese. I also started studying Mandarin last year, since I love learning new languages and engaging with different cultures. I have lived in Germany for three years, as I did my undergraduate studies in Psychology in Düsseldorf. Although my educational and professional background is mostly related to Psychology and Dance, I have plenty of teaching experience in a range of subjects as a tutor and educator. I officially started learning German at school at the age of 5, but I grew up with German TV and movies from an earlier age. My German is on a native level and I speak Hochdeutsch without a region-specific dialect.

During the first meeting I usually agree upon a suitable meeting schedule and lesson plan with students to accommodate their needs and level. A lesson is normally about an hour long but can be shorter or longer depending on what benefits the student most. I teach students of any age, from beginners to intermediate level German speakers. I have lived in Germany for three years and can give direct cultural and local insights about the country and its people.
