About Marty

My name is Tamara Chandi, I am 29 years old and proudly South African. My passion for education and language led me to pursue a Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), which I have successfully completed. This 420-hour comprehensive course covered an in-depth understanding of lesson planning, English language teaching methodologies, and a variety of learning contexts. It also provided me with the skills to effectively teach grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, as well as the four key language skills: speaking, writing, reading, and listening. The course also equipped me with specialized training in Teaching Business English, Teaching Other Subjects in English, and Preparing Learners for English Language Examinations. It has prepared me to meet the needs of a wide range of learners, from young students to adult professionals, across different cultures and language levels. In addition to my academic training, I have hands-on experience teaching students online, which has strengthened my classroom management, adaptability, and communication skills in virtual environments. This experience has further confirmed my enthusiasm for teaching and helping others grow in their confidence and fluency in English. My goal is to continue my journey in education by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in teaching, which I hope to fund myself through international teaching opportunities. I am deeply excited by the chance to travel, teach, and immerse myself in different cultures, embracing diversity and new perspectives both in and outside the classroom but before that I would love to obtain a few good years teaching online, gaining valuable experience and developing my teaching skills. Outside of teaching, I enjoy drawing and reading, both of which inspire creativity in my lessons and help me connect with students through shared interests. I look forward to bringing enthusiasm, professionalism, and cultural curiosity to every classroom I enter.
