About Chanté
I am a down-to-earth teacher with a love of knowledge and a knack for spelling. I used to teach Creative Arts and Life Orientation.
I love reading more than watching TV and it's one of the reasons why I have an eye for corrections.
When I was in school my classmates called me the "walking dictionary", and so I've come to enjoy being of assistance to anyone in need of such a skillset.

Focus and patience are key in my lessons, but repetition and drilling are not the only methods to improve.
I speak Afrikaans too when needed to aid in explanations for those who are less proficient In English.
My lessons are mainly structured around improving your spelling and grammar through use of sample texts from your own work and some I supply on which we will find and correct errors. Explanations are given after the first examination of the provided text, you can correct what you find and whatever is left will be addressed in the next read through.
Any specific points you want to focus on will be worked on first and we'll do practice pieces to assess your level of comprehension at the end and beginning of each lesson.
Practice is important, but breaks and time to reflect are equally important to keep the mind sharp and prevent burnout.
I have taught at English-medium schools from Gr R-11, but my lessons are more suited for intermediate-senior phase (gr6-12)& adult students who require the improvements for academic purposes or polishing their writing skills for a more professional setting such as business correspondence.
